It’s not much, but a few counties in northeast Iowa may need to watch out for severe weather this afternoon. Storms are expected to enter a favorable environment in this area for intensification. This could lead to some strong winds and large hail.
The area circled in the graphic to the left shows the area under consideration for a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. This includes extreme northeast Iowa. If storms do fire up, we’ll launch our live coverage if needed. At this time showers and thunderstorms are moving through the state, but most of Iowa should avoid the risk of severe weather.
