The National Weather Service has cancelled the watch issued earlier this evening for western Iowa. It appears showers and thunderstorms will persist during the overnight hours, but should not reach severe limits. There is a chance an isolated storm or two could reach severe limits during the overnight hours, but no organized outbreaks of severe weather are expected. Attention now turns to Saturday. With the timing of this storm system’s passage through Iowa, the threat for severe weather could change dramatically. We’ll have a full analysis on the threat tomorrow morning.
