WXUPDATE: Severe Threat Diminishing Tonight

Our third mesoscale discussion tells us exactly what we’ve been talking about all day and night.  There is potential for a strong storm or two, but no organized threat for severe weather.   Simply put, the ingredients just aren’t there.  Even so, a strong band of showers and thunderstorms are making their way across Iowa.

You can see to the left the area highlighted for a wind and hail risk by the Storm Prediction Center.  But at this time the threat is low enough there are no plans to issue a watch in response.  We are continuing to monitor the situation and will bring you updates if any surface.
