The Storm Prediction Center issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of eastern Nebraska and South Dakota. At this hour they do not think they’ll have to do the same for western Iowa.
Ongoing storms in Nebraska and South Dakota are not expected to maintain their intensity as they push into Iowa. Either way, these storms will need to be monitored and will still have an effect on tomorrow’s threat as I wrote in an earlier post.
If any storms become severe in Iowa overnight, strong winds and large hail are the primary threats.
