The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has issued a Severe Thunderstorm watch for a large portion of western Iowa. This watch will remain in effect until 2:00am Saturday Morning. Showers and thunderstorms are beginning to develop in portions of eastern Nebraska and South Dakota at this hour. These storms are expected to form a line of strong to severe thunderstorms that will cross over Iowa during the evening and overnight hours.
The primary threats from these storms include large hail, strong damaging winds and an isolated tornado or two. We are monitoring the development of these storms and will bring you updates as we receive them.
