The Storm Prediction Center is monitoring an area including western Iowa for the development of strong to severe thunderstorms tonight. At this time, the SPC does not anticipate issuing a watch for these storms. It appears the boundary layer is a bit stabilized in this area which should prevent organized development like we saw last night across much of the state. A few storms may produce some small hail, occasionally reaching severe limits (1.00” in diameter).
We’ll continue to keep an eye on this and bring you any updates when/if conditions warrant.
