The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK is monitoring another part of Iowa for a new watch. As you can see in the graphic to the left, this area is in western Iowa just south of the existing tornado watch in effect for northern parts of Iowa.
At this time, forecasters believe just an isolated wind threat will take shape in this area, but the ingredients are building and a larger scale event could develop in the next few hours. We’ll continue to monitor this situation as well as some early development taking shape in northwest Iowa at this hour. If storms begin to reach severe limits, we’ll launch our live coverage.
