Winter Weather Advisory Friday

A weather system will impact the area early Friday through Friday evening bringing some additional light to moderate snow to much of the state. Snow will spread into western Iowa prior to sunrise Friday and continue to spread east southeastward across the state through the day Friday. The majority of central and northern Iowa will see around 1 to 4 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts possible if a heavier band of snow occurs.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 3am to 6pm Friday. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute on Friday. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected. Be prepared for hazardous travel at times due to reduced visibilities. Some drifting of snow across roadways can also be expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
