A storm system will spread accumulating now into portions of eastern Iowa, northeast Missouri and western Illinois late this evening, reaching northeast Illinois toward early Sunday morning. Light to moderate snow will then continue through the day on Sunday. Southeast wind will also increase with gusts over 25-mph later tonight into Sunday which may cause some drifting. Total accumulations of 3 to 5 inches can be expected over much of the area.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 9pm this evening to 6pm Sunday. now will begin late this evening and will continue through the day on Sunday. Total snowfall accumulations in the advisory will range from 3 to 5 inches. Wind gusts will be increasing over 25-mph later tonight into Sunday morning. This will create visibilities less than a mile in heavier snow at times.


A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slick, snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and be careful while driving.
