Wind Chill Warning Expanded

Another arctic intrusion will continue to produce very cold temperatures tonight into Tuesday. The combination of this cold air and strong northwest winds will continue to produce dangerously cold wind chills.

Due to these dangerously cold wind chills, the wind chill warning has been expanded. It will be in effect until noon Tuesday. Dangerously cold wind chills are expected, which frostbite may occur in as little as 10 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 20 below zero to 35 below zero. A wind chill warning means the combination of very cold air and the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frost bite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.

A wind chill advisory will also be in effect. Within this advisory, frostbite will occur in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 20 below zero to 30 below zero within this advisory.
