After a tranquil weather day today, Wednesday will set up for a more active weather day. Rain will begin to lift to the northeast by sunrise Wednesday, across southwest Iowa. Eventually by mid morning, rain will fill in across central and western Iowa.

As this low tracks into western Iowa during the day Wednesday, rain will continue to increase across eastern Iowa. This low will remain over western Iowa for most of the day Wednesday, which will allow for heavy rain to accumulate across the western Iowa half of the state. This is where 1 to 2 inches of rain will be possible.

Rain will continue to stick around through the state on Wednesday evening before eventually drying out by Thursday. Things will be dry as we head into the weekend, before another active weather pattern sets up for Sunday through Tuesday.
