Weekend Soaker?

Iowa High Temperatures Wasn’t today just a marvelous day!? I hope you got outside today and enjoyed the warmth as it felt like summer instead of spring for some of us. Highs made it into the lower 80’s across the west, with the upper 60’s to lower 70’s to the east. Tomorrow will be slightly cooler as a weak cold front will move through the state, but it will still be seasonal. There is a slight chance of rain late this evening, and into the early morning hours tomorrow, but any rainfall will be very light in nature. Friday will be warmer than tomorrow, and there will be no rain showers to worry about as we will be under mostly sunny conditions.

Out next chance of rain will come on Saturday and this looks to be a soaker. Right now rain will begin as early as 7am Saturday. Rain will continue through the afternoon hours on Saturday and on into the day Sunday before eventually working out of the state by Monday morning. Temperatures may be cold enough Sunday night that places in the state could see a rain snow mix Sunday night into the early morning hours on Monday.  As you can see from the map below, rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches will be possible.

National Precipitation Forecast TotalsWe will continue to track the very latest and will bring you that information right here at www.iowachase.com and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
