The National Weather Service is monitoring conditions in northeast Iowa this afternoon. This is the area they’re considering a watch for showers and thunderstorms developing ahead of a cold front. These storms are no producing any severe weather in Iowa right now, but if they intensify, all modes of severe weather would be possible. We do expect a second, large round of severe storms to develop later this afternoon and evening. We’ll have live coverage from the field later today as we chase these storms.
