Warmer Weather Ahead

Iowa High Temperatures Friday

Weather beacon red, warmer weather is ahead. For those of you that may have never heard of this before, our partner KCCI-TV in Des Moines use to have a weather beacon attached to their tower that was visible all throughout downtown Des Moines. If the weather beacon was still here today, it would be lit red as warmer weather is on the return.

Highs on Friday will range from the upper 30’s to low 50’s across the state. The warm up will continue into the weekend, however, a chance of rain will return to the forecast by Saturday night. This rain will be very light as rainfall accumulations will only be a couple hundredths of an inch.

Iowa Temperatures Anomaly

Iowa Temperatures Anomaly

Temperatures will cool off a few degrees on Sunday, but will still be above average. Heading into next week, our precipitation chances will be very slim. Highs will range from the 40’s to 50’s across the state next week which is very unseasonable for the second week of December. If you are wishing for some more snow, just start wishing for temperatures to start cooling off first. If you hate the snow, then rejoice as the week ahead will be just splendid for you!
