UPGRADED: Moderate Risk Issued

outlook

Overnight, the Storm Prediction Center has expanded and upgraded the convective outlook for Saturday. A slight risk has been issued for the western half of Iowa, west of I-35. A moderate risk has now been issued for portions of Nebraska and western Iowa. If you live in the moderate risk, very large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado will be possible. As the storms slide to the east into Iowa, the threat will be for damaging wind gusts and large hail. The models differ with the  timing of the storms, so this will need to be something that we will have to monitor. We will have another update this afternoon at 4pm with the very latest information.

  1. Sounds like Omaha is going to get hit once again. We knew this was going to happen since the College World Series starts tomorrow. We tend to always get a really bad storm during the CWS, and it looks like it could happen tomorrow night. We love the rain though, most of central and eastern Nebraska is starting to get out of the major drought that we have been in since two-three years ago! Let it rain!!
