Tornado Watch in Effect for Eastern Iowa

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to form this afternoon and early evening across the watch area. Conditions appear favorable for large hail in the stronger cells along with the risk for isolated tornadoes.

Primary threats include a few tornadoes, scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 3 inches in diameter possible, and scattered damaging wind gusts to 70-mph possible.

The tornado watch is now in effect through 10pm CST.
