After a dull but yet wonderful weekend in the books, the week ahead will bring some changes. Monday will be similar to Sunday with temperatures ranging from the lower 80s in the north to the upper 80s in the south. Monday will partly sunny with a chance of afternoon pop up thunderstorms across northern Iowa.
Temperatures on Tuesday will be similar to Monday, however, clouds and more rain chances will begin to enter from the west by Tuesday afternoon. By Tuesday evening, this is when our best chance of widespread rain will begin to move in. Rainfall amounts Tuesday night will range from a tenth of an inch to as much as quarter of an inch.
Wednesday will be a rainy one with cooler temperatures because of the clouds and rain. Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70s. Rain will continue throughout Wednesday night and for a good portion of the day Thursday. The rain will then continue to slide off to the east throughout the day Thursday. After all said and done, rainfall totals of one to two inches will be likely.
An area of high pressure will then build into the state on Friday setting up for a nice day. Friday will be mostly sunny with highs ranging from the upper 70s across the north to the lower 80s across the south. The weekend will also be dry with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
If you are planning on heading out to the state fair on opening day Thursday, you might want to bring that umbrella along with you. If not, wait until Friday and you will have a picture perfect day! As a reminder, if are going to be at the state fair, we would love to see your photos. Please upload them at http://www.iowachase.com/upload/. A photo each day will selected to be our fair photo of the day and it will end up on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram page!
