Sub-Freezing Temperatures For Most of Iowa Tonight

Northwesterly winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts of 35 to 45 mph are expected across northwestern to northern Iowa today. Tonight, much of Iowa will have temperatures below freezing, which will kill unprotected plants.

Because of this, a freeze warning will be in effect from 3am to 10am Saturday. Temperatures in the mid to upper 20’s will kill unprotected plants.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.
