Are you ready for the next round? and the next? and the next? No my keyboard isn’t stuck, our newly active weather pattern couldn’t come at a worse time. Many will be out and about this weekend, at the same time threats for severe weather arrive for Iowa. Let’s begin with today’s threat.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Iowa under a Slight Risk for this afternoon and evening. An advancing warm front is expected to trigger a wave of strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon, especially to the south and west of Iowa. The primary threat for Iowa tonight will be for large hail, especially after sunset. There are indications this severe weather threat could last well into the overnight hours into Saturday Morning. This possibility will need to be closely monitored.
Sunday and Monday now appear to have the potential of a severe weather outbreak over the Upper Midwest. And it appears likely that some of this severe weather will enter Iowa. We will have more on that later this weekend but for now I can’t stress enough, please urge everyone you know venturing out this weekend to stay tuned to the latest weather information, which you will find all weekend long right here at iowachase.com
