The radar image to the right from late this morning shows a building band of snow showers in southern Iowa that will makes its way across areas south of Interstate 80. The good news is these snow showers are rather light, no major accumulations are expected in any areas. But as the snow falls it could produce some slick conditions and some reduced visibilities that drivers in these parts of the state haven’t seen yet this year.
Overall no major storm systems are in the near future for Iowa. Some scattered chances for snow showers are possible within the next week but otherwise it looks like we’re avoiding the worst of it. Overall, an active weather patter in the central US is expected to continue so we’ll let you know if anything changes, but the short answer is the next couple weeks look relatively quiet.
