Light snow is currently moving to the southeast across northwest Iowa as of 3pm Thursday afternoon. Snowfall totals will generally be light, but will make for a slick evening commute. Snow is currently falling across northwest Iowa, and will begin to fall across central Iowa by 5pm, and eventually across southern Iowa after 7pm.

Snowfall accumulations will generally be around an inch from Osceola, Des Moines, Denison, Ames, Fort Dodge, Storm Lake and to Sioux City. Lighter snowfall accumulations around a half inch to a dusty will be possible across southwest Iowa and eastern Iowa.

After this snow clears out of the state late this evening, another round of snow will then be possible Saturday night into Sunday, and this looks to bring the chance for more accumulating snow than today’s snowfall. Continue to check back to for the latest snowfall forecast as we head into this weekend.
