Slight Risk Severe Storms Saturday 7/16

Iowa Severe Weather Outlook

Severe storms are expected across portions of the northern and central plains Saturday afternoon through the evening, spreading into the upper Mississippi Valley after dark. A few strong to severe storms are possible from the middle Mississippi Valley.

Storms will develop across the South Dakota/Nebraska border and will track off to the east/southeast through late afternoon into early evening. Eventually storms will enter into northwest Iowa after 11pm, and will continue off to the southeast. These storms will be capable of producing strong wind and large hail.

Eventually storms will clear out of the state by early Sunday morning, before a second wave moves across the eastern half of the state Sunday evening. For more on that severe threat, CLICK HERE.
