The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk of severe weather across portions of Iowa for late afternoon into evening. These storms that will develop by late in the afternoon will be caused by the heating of the day.
Storms will develop along a line stretching from Waterloo to Creston after 6pm, and will continue to develop as this line continues to the southeast. Storms that do develop will have the potential to be strong to severe, with large hail and damaging wind gusts as the only threats.
More severe weather is anticipated Friday and Saturday, so continue to follow the Iowa Storm Chasing Network for the latest severe weather updates.
