Slight Risk of Severe Storms Today 8/20

A slight risk of severe storms has been introduced to the forecast for this afternoon. Recovery of low-level moisture is expected this afternoon across Iowa. A cluster of elevated storms is expected late tonight from northeast Nebraska into Iowa. This will pose a large hail and damaging wind threat, which is why the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a slight risk of severe storms.

Storms will develop late this evening, after 10pm across northwest Iowa/northeast Nebraska and will continue off to the east/southeast through the early morning hours on Monday.
