Significant Winter Storm to Affect the Central Plains

A winter storm is predicted to develop across the Central Plains this weekend. The track of the storm and resultant impacts are still somewhat uncertain. However, light to moderate snow is likely and heavy snowfall is possible. Preparations for significant snow and blowing snow should be undertaken.

A winter storm watch remains in effect from Sunday morning through Monday.  Heavy snow is possible, so plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches, with localized amounts up to 8 inches, are possible. A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
