A slight risk of severe weather has been posted for a good portion of western and northern Iowa today. A storm system is expected to trigger strong storms later this afternoon and evening. At this time it appears all modes of severe weather will be possible, especially in northwest Iowa, where tornadoes, large hail and strong damaging winds could threaten this area. The greatest threat for tornado development lies in Minnesota but this will also have to be monitored in Iowa.
We are tracking the latest developments throughout the day and will bring you much more as conditions warrant throughout the afternoon.
