Areas of strong to severe storms will be possible from central Kansas north through the upper Mississippi Valley and western extent of the Upper Great Lakes region, mainly Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening as a cold front begins to enter the state.
By late afternoon Saturday, enough heating should have occurred that showers and thunderstorms will develop along the cold front. A few of these storms may be strong to severe, with large hail and damaging wind gusts being the primary threats. Periodic thunderstorms chances then continue into next week.
