It’s not a great chance but it’s possible. The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a slight risk for severe weather for parts of western Iowa on Sunday. This threat doesn’t look all that good, but it is there.
There is the potential for enough instability to produce a severe thunderstorm or two, especially in the late afternoon and early evening hours. At this does not look like a long term severe weather event like what we saw last week.
A similar scenario is taking shape for Monday as well, where a small threat of severe weather will affect parts of southern and eastern Iowa. Again we do not expect a widespread outbreak either day at this time and do not plan on launching a storm chase for these events. Even so, we will continue to monitor the latest information and bring you the very latest.
