Iowa Severe Thunderstorm Watch

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until midnight tonight for portions of west central and southwest Iowa.

Primary threats include, scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter. Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70-mph will be possible, as well as a tornado or two.

Thunderstorms, some of which will be capable of hail and possibly a short-lived tornado or two, will continue to increase across the watch area through mid-evening, with a general northeastward movement.
