Severe Storms Thursday 9/15

Severe Weather Outlook in Iowa

Severe thunderstorms will develop across Nebraska and South Dakota this afternoon and will push to the east through the state late this afternoon into evening. A few of these storms could be severe as they enter the state. Storms will develop after 4pm in central/eastern Nebraska and will push to the northeast along the front. Initially, a few of these storms across Nebraska and extreme west central Iowa may have the potential for a tornado or two. As a cold front approaches the state, storms will merge into a line, and will push off to the east. This is when storms will transition to a damaging wind threat, which will be the main threat here in the state of Iowa.
