Severe Storms This Afternoon 8/23

A complex of storms over northeastern Nebraska is moving east northeastward toward extreme southeastern South Dakota/northwestern Iowa at this time. This activity may intensify as it lifts across northwestern Iowa into parts of southern Minnesota with potential for severe wind and hail to develop with stronger cells.

In the wake of this system, storms may redevelop along western sections of the low-level moisture and instability axis over central/eastern Nebraska later this afternoon and evening. Storms will pose a damaging wind gust and large hail threat, although isolated supercells may also be possible.
