Severe Storms Possible, Watch Unlikely

Mesoscale Discussion in Iowa for a Watch

An isolated severe risk will accompany thunderstorms across parts of the Mid-Missouri Valley and vicinity through the afternoon hour, perhaps lingering into the evening. While convective/environmental trends will continue to be monitored, a weather watch issuance is presently unlikely.

A few occasionally organized convective structures could evolve through late afternoon, with isolated marginally severe wind/hail possible. Sufficient low-level directional shear may support a few storm-scale circulations, and perhaps a weak/brief tornado, particularly near the edge of residual, MCS-related outflow.
