A few severe storms capable of wind and hail are expected Thursday afternoon and evening from eastern Nebraska into Iowa. Outflow from early morning storms across the upper Mississippi Valley will push south into Iowa during the day. A wind shift will exist near the low pressure trough into central Nebraska. Both these boundaries will provide a focus for afternoon storm development. A supercell or two may occur early on, before storms quickly grow upscale into clusters.
