A cold front will move through the state Monday afternoon into evening. This will trigger a line of storms ahead of it, which as few of these may be severe. Heating will take place during much of the day Monday, which will create a very unstable airmass. Large hail, damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado can not be ruled out of the equation.
Heavy rain, and flash flooding will also be a concern. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches, with locally higher amounts in stronger storms will be possible. This will create a flash flooding threat, which is why an excessive rainfall outlook has been issued on top of the slight risk.
