Rain, Wind Chills, & Snow

Rain continues to move to the north across the state this afternoon. So far rainfall totals are over a quarter of an inch across southern Iowa, where it has been raining since this morning. Rain will continue to fall this evening into Wednesday morning. When all said and done, the greatest rainfall accumulations will occur across eastern Iowa. This is where up to an inch of rain will be possible. However, on the backside, the winds will increase and will bring in much cooler air.

Iowa Wind ChillsBy Thursday morning, winds will be sustained out of the northwest at 15mph with gusts up to 25mph. This will make the temperatures feel like the lower 20’s.

Iowa SnowAs this system begins to wrap up Wednesday into Thursday, a few snowflakes may mix in with light rain showers across extreme northern Iowa. Temperatures will begin to warm back up by Friday and on into the weekend.
