After being spoiled with spring like temperatures today, we will quickly snap back to reality on Tuesday into Wednesday. Highs across the state Monday ranged from the upper 50’s across southeast Iowa to the lower 40’s across northern Iowa.
A quick moving storm system will begin to enter the state from the west Tuesday evening. Temperatures will be cold enough that all precipitation will fall in the form of snow. Snow will begin to fall across the Omaha metro after 11pm and will continue to push to the east/southeast throughout the evening.
Snow will continue to fall south of Interstate 80 through the early morning hours on Wednesday. Snow will then quickly taper off by sunrise Wednesday, leaving behind a slick morning commute.
Snowfall totals will be light, ranging from 1 to 3 inches, with the higher totals near the Omaha metro. The snow will not last long as temperatures quickly warm by the end of the week.
