An exceptionally cloudy and wet November began with statewide rains on the 1st-2nd. Most locations in the state reported over an inch of rain over those two days, and large areas of central and north central Iowa received 2-3 inches or more of rain.

The highest reported accumulations included 3.24 inches at Grundy Center, 3.40 inches at Steamboat Rock, 3.63 inches at Parkersburg, 3.69 inches at Clarion, and 3.93 inches at Allison. The month would finish as the wettest November on record at several locations including Iowa City where 8.08 inches of precipitation was recorded for the month.

At Des Moines it was the cloudiest month on record with only 56.7 sunshine hours recorded, and Cedar Rapids reported cloud cover 95 percent of the time during daylight hours.
