After a spring like day, showers and thunderstorms will move through the state Tuesday. The first round of showers and thunderstorms will move to the northeast across southeast Iowa during sunrise Tuesday. A few of these thunderstorms may be strong, and produce small hail.
After this brief round of showers and thunderstorms clears out of the state, a brief dry period will be likely. Temperatures will warm into the 60’s and low 70’s, before a cold front moves to the southeast across the state by Tuesday afternoon. This cold front will provide the next round of showers and thunderstorms. A few of these may contain some small hail.
Rainfall accumulations of a quarter to an inch of rain will be possible across the southeastern half of the state. Temperatures will cool off a few degrees on Wednesday but will continue to remain above average. For the latest weather updates, follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
