Iowa will get a nice quiet summer weekend. But after that, things get active Monday Night. The Storm Prediction Center has posted a minimal slight risk for Monday. The risk area covers portions of western Iowa. At this time it appears this would be an early/late evening event in Iowa and no major outbreaks of severe weather are expected. The frontal boundary associated with this storm system could stall out over parts of the state on Tuesday, triggering another round of strong to severe thunderstorms.
The one bit of good news with this ongoing active weather is that it will likely keep temperatures from reaching the 90’s in many areas. Not a bad thing this time of year.
