A few isolated showers this morning across parts of Iowa should be all the rain we see today. A warm front will push north of Iowa, forcing warm and moist air up from the south. This will steadily increase our high temperatures over the next few days along with the humidity that comes with it.
Along with that heat comes a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The Storm Prediction Center has posted a general risk for severe weather over the northern half of Iowa on Sunday. Not much to say about this risk. All modes of severe weather are possible but no major outbreaks are expected at this time.
There are plenty of other chances for rain across Iowa over the next week, making heavy rain a potential concern as well. Something to keep an eye on but as we always say, one risk at a time. We’ll monitor any changes in tomorrow’s forecast and bring you any updates tonight or tomorrow if and when the conditions warrant.
