Another weather system will pass across Iowa tonight, mainly impacting southern Iowa beginning this evening and ending mid-morning Saturday. There will be a fairly sharp cutoff to the heavier snow on the north side of the band of moderate snowfall.
A winter weather advisory has been issued along and south of Interstate 80 from 9 pm this evening to 7 am Saturday. Light snow will begin to spread into southwest Iowa late this afternoon and will continue to track to the east during the evening and overnight.
Snowfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected within the winter weather advisory. Snow will begin to clear out of the state by mid-day Saturday before another round of snow moves back into the same part of the state Saturday evening.
