An approaching cold front will trigger off a line of showers and thunderstorms on Monday. Storms will develop across northwest Iowa first by Monday afternoon, and will advance off to the east. This cold front will continue off to the east through the afternoon. A few of these thunderstorms may be on the strong side, with marginally severe wind and hail.
The limiting factor to the overall severe threat on Monday will be the amount of instability. As of Sunday evening, the instability looks to be rather low, which will limit the overall severe risk.
