Marginal Risk of Hail on Sunday Across Southeast Iowa

A threat for marginally severe hail may organize across parts of the lower Missouri and middle Mississippi Valleys Sunday night. On Sunday, highs will climb into the mid 50’s across northern Iowa to near 70 across southwest Iowa.

Storms will likely develop ahead of an advancing cold front Sunday evening. Due to the combination of the low level jet and marginal instability, elevated strong to severe storms will be possible. Since these storms will be elevated, the primary threat will be for hail.

Cooler temperatures but seasonable temperatures are expected into early next week.
