A few strong thunderstorms will be possible across Iowa Thursday afternoon as a cold front advances through the state. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will be ongoing Thursday morning over the upper Mississippi Valley. There will be a break in the rain by the afternoon, which will allow the atmosphere to become unstable. This will allow additional storms to develop along the cold front from southern Minnesota into Wisconsin, southwestward through the central Plains.
The main threat with any storms that do become severe, will be damaging wind gusts. Continue to follow the Iowa Storm Chasing Network for the latest updates.
