A storm system will move through eastern Nebraska and western Iowa today. This will bring increasing clouds and rain chances by afternoon. With increasing afternoon moisture and warmth, a few isolated thunderstorms are also possible. Although the majority of any storms would remain below severe limits, and isolated strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out, especially in southeast Nebraska.
The most likely time for strong storms will be between 3pm and 9pm. The main threat would be hail to around 1.25″ in diameter, gusty winds, frequent lightning and brief heavy rainfall. While the confidence is low, this threat will be closely monitored.
