It now appears likely there is little risk for severe weather. Storms spreading across the I-80 corridor could produce an isolated strong wind gust or two but no outbreaks are expected and no watches are going to be issued. Tonight’s main threat is for very heavy rainfall as the storms begin training from west to east across the state. Lightning is also going to occur which will likely keep many up a little late tonight.
Below is a radar image snapped at approximately 12:10am to give you of an idea of where the heaviest rain will fall over the next few hours. We do not plan to launch a live chat tonight but will keep an eye on the threat for flash flooding in areas where several inches of rain fall tonight.
