Lightning Active!!

Last night and early this morning, some high-based cells and a squall line moved through portions of Southwestern, Central, and Northeastern Iowa.  These high based cells provided ample viewing opportunities for large cloud-to ground lightning strikes, and also the bases of the cells. ISCN’s Paul was able to capture some photos near Cedar Rapids, including 1 composite image that shows all of the strikes over a 45 minute time frame.  Below are some of the shots:
