Winter will be making a comeback Friday night into Saturday as light to moderate snow moves into western Iowa. Models have been fairly consistent with the track of the storm, but the intensity of the snowfall still remains uncertain between models.
Light snow will begin across northwest Iowa after 7pm Friday. Snow will continue to spread to the southeast throughout the early evening Friday. It appears that a moderate band of snow will move across southwest Iowa after 2am and before 6am Saturday. This could provide higher snowfall accumulations.
As of Wednesday afternoon, due to the uncertainty in the models regarding the more moderate snowfall band, accumulations are still subject to change. It appears to 2 to 4 inches of snow will be likely, however, the potential for up to 6 inches does exist depending on this moderate snowfall band.
