Light Snow Expected Across Northeast Half of Iowa Sunday

Iowa Snowfall Forecast

Another round of snow will move through the state Sunday. While everyone will see some snowflakes at some point during the day Sunday, the best chance for accumulating snow will be across northeast Iowa.

Snow will begin early Sunday afternoon and will continue through Sunday evening. Snowfall accumulations will be the greatest across the northeast half of the state, and this is where 1 to 2 inches of snowfall will accumulate. Further to the west, a dusting to less than an inch will be possible.

Winds will also be strong Sunday afternoon, so blowing snow will also be a concern. While this snowfall is not enough to issue a winter weather advisory, it is still something that you will want to monitor if you plan on traveling across the northeast half of the state later on today.

Track the snow by using our FREE Storm Hunter WX app. You can find it in the Android and iOS stores by searching for “Storm Hunter WX.”  Make sure to enable safety net alerts so when hazardous weather impacts your current location, you will get notified with a push notification. **This app is only available for smartphones and table devices**
