After an exceptional weekend, with record breaking temperatures, snow will be moving back into the state. The amount of snow will be light, unlike original reports from some last week. Snow will begin after 6pm Monday and will move through the state Tuesday.
Snowfall accumulations will be light, generally 1″ to 3″. Temperatures across southern Iowa will be warm initially that rain will transition over to snow during the evening hours Monday into Tuesday. Depending how quick this transition is, some light freezing rain may be possible.
Temperatures will be near seasonal averages this week, with another chance of snow returning to the forecast by Thursday.
